The short film “NATAЛЛЯ” (“NATALLIA”) tells the story of the 2020 election fraud in Belarus and the protests that followed, seen through the eyes of a Belarusian woman living in Berlin. At its core, the film explores what it means to witness violence and injustice from a distance, and the helplessness of not being able to act directly.
“NATAЛЛЯ” (“NATALLIA”) is a graduation film from the self-organised FilmArche e.V. in Neukölln. The film was made with private support and with support from LIBERECO.
From the very beginning, director Anastasia Sytschew and LIBERECO wanted the film to create a space for exchange — for people with and without migration experience, especially those who come from authoritarian countries or are directly or indirectly affected by them. After the screening, there will be a short Q&A with the director and the protagonists. Seating is limited.
Afterwards, we invite you to join us in the bar for a postcard action for political prisoners in Belarus. All materials and addresses will be provided, and translation support will be available. Everyone is welcome, regardless of language skills, to come together in a warm and solidaristic atmosphere and send a message of hope and solidarity.
