Support Life-Saving Evacuations from Kupiansk
The eastern Ukrainian city of Kupiansk is under heavy fire. Older people and those in need of care are particularly unable to save themselves. Please support the evacuation our efforts.
For many months now, Kupiansk in eastern Ukraine has been the target of heavy shelling. The people there are experiencing massive fighting and constant attacks. It is especially bad for older people and people in need of care.
The latter, in particular, can’t bring themselves to safety and are therefore reliant on the evacuation efforts of volunteers. Together with our partner organization X-Traverse we have established a hotline to help with the evacuation of these vulnerable people.
The monthly costs for coordinating and operating the hotline as well as conducting rescue missions amount to approx. €10,000. In order for us to be able to continue saving lives, we need your help!
Your contribution of
- €50 will cover Ruslan’s salary for each evacuation.
- €75 will cover the costs for life-saving medicine that is needed in the evacuations.
- €100 will cover the costs for gas and operations for each mission.
- €150 will help with the necessary repairs after each mission to the war zone.
- €500 enable us to keep operating the hotline through which calls for help reach X-Traverse.
The Situation on site
Since October, we have been receiving alarming reports from our partner organization X-Traverse: The Russian attacks against the city of Kupiansk in the region of Kharkiv are increasing and the enemy is advancing towards the city. The remaining inhabitants live under constant shelling amidst heavy fighting. Especially the elderly and people in need of care are in danger since they are unable to reach safety on their own.
The situation in and around the city is extremely precarious and dangerous. Due to the destruction of the local infrastructure, there are no more safe avenues of escape. Only X-Traverse remains to evacuate people from the area.
The evacuations are conducted be the head of the organization himself. Ruslan hails from Kupiansk and has known the city and its inhabitants from childhood. Despite the personal burden and the high risk, he keeps driving into the city each day to rescue people who would otherwise have no means of escape.
