Human Rights x Humanitarian Action

As part of our call for proposals “Human Rights x Humanitarian Action,” launched in November 2025, LIBERECO has received numerous inspiring project ideas. Following a structured selection process, we are pleased to announce three new partnerships. Each will receive 10,000 Swiss francs for a period of six months. These projects will help local communities in Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv to assert and defend their human rights.

led by U-GENERATION in Kyiv, Ukraine

• The project provides 30 young activists with the practical skills necessary for human rights analysis, legislative drafting, and advocacy. These skills will enable them to address urgent humanitarian and legal challenges affecting vulnerable populations. Through a combination of online training, an intensive, in-person law development course, and post-project mentorship, participants will draft legislative initiatives, publicly defend them, and possibly submit them to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) with the support of Members of Parliament. The project ultimately helps young people growing into active contributors to policymaking, thereby strengthening inclusive and accountable governance in Ukraine.

led by Democratic Initiatives Incubator in Vinnytssia, Ukraine

• The project aims to reduce the humanitarian vulnerability of people affected by war by ensuring they have access to clear information, individual legal support, and a real opportunity to submit compensation claims through the Register of Damages for Ukraine. The project ensures that people are not burdened by complex procedures, and that they are empowered to know and exercise their rights.

led by Khmelnytsky Regional Youth Public Association «Territory» in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine

• The project will create a safe, intergenerational space that connects children and youth from local communities with elderly individuals, individuals with disabilities, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by war who live in two care homes in a small community in the Bakota area. Through joint creative and educational activities, the project will reduce isolation and promote the dignity, participation, and social inclusion of care home residents. It will also strengthen community ties and develop a scalable, community-based model with measurable social impact.

Thanks to the core funding of our donors, LIBERECO is able to support locally led projects. Therefore, every donation helps sustain these projects. We have received over 100 project proposals, and your contribution would enable us to establish additional partnerships with community-based projects.
